Le Penthouse

This lovely studio apartment, recently renovated and redecorated, is located on the top floor (with elevator access) of a typical 1930's Parisian building. From the floor-to-ceiling French doors and windows within the apartment, there are spectacular views of the Sacré Coeur basilica and the Parisian skyline, overlooking the tiled rooftops so typical of Paris.

The layout of this light and airy apartment is well thought-out...the queen-sized bed is ensconced in a corner of the living area, while a cozy seating area, furnished with a comfortable couch (which converts to a sofa bed), a satellite television (with CNN, CNBC Europe and BBC), wireless internet access, and a small seating area adjacent to the sleeping area.

A dining table, with intimate seating for two, is nestled next to four large picture windows overlooking the Sacré Coeur basilica, the charming Parisian rooftops and chimneys and the breathtaking skyline beyond. The fully equipped and appointed kitchen is separated by a bar from the living area, and has a convenient counter for eating or conversing while preparing meals. The separate table allows for a work area or for dining.

The kitchen is well equipped with all modern appliances, including an oven, range, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, and both a washer and dryer.

There is one full bathroom (with American-style shower and bathtub), and a separate toilet room adjacent to the living areas.

Considered by many to be one of the most romantic spots in Paris, Montmartre offers a small village ambiance within a big city. Its narrow winding streets, long history of famous artists, outdoor markets, cafes and funky boutiques make it the perfect base for your stay in Paris.

Within the Montemarte district, restaurants, cafes, wine bars, food shops, supermarkets, bakeries, patisseries and specialty shops are only a five minute walk from the studio. The apartment is also within easy walking distance to the Sacré Coeur, Museum of Montmartre, Moulin Rouge, rue Lepic food and produce market, Espace Dali, Bateau Lavoir and the Lapin Agile.

Two nearby metro stations are within a five minute walk from the apartment, making metro access to all of Paris and its sites convenient and quick.
Although the neighborhood bustles with activity during the day, the location is incredibly quiet in the evening.

Winding cobblestone side streets give Montmartre its "village" feel, notwithstanding its proximity to the heart of Paris. With so many galleries, restaurants, and specialty shops, many travelers feel no need to leave the Montmartre district.

Street fairs and artists' displays are an everyday occurrence in the area surrounding Sacré Coeur...a short walk from Le Penthouse.
