Le Jardin du Palais Royal

This recently renovated and traditionally decorated, three-level apartment located in one of the most sought-after neighborhoods in Paris evokes the charm of 19th century France, and yet offers all the luxuries and modern amenities demanded by discriminating 21st century travelers.

Located directly across from the gardens of the famous Palais Royal and just a short walk to the Louvre, Le Jardin du Palais Royal is a completely renovated and tastefully decorated duplex apartment containing two bedrooms, one full shower room and a small "powder room". Distributed over three levels and containing approximately 700 square fee of area, it is an ideal property for two couples or a family of four wanting to experience living like a "real" Parisian in a wonderfully upscale neighborhood in the heart of Paris.

Guests enter the apartment through their own private entryway from rue Montpensier and from the gardens. The entryway, living and dining areas are on the ground floor; the living areas open directly onto the inner courtyard of the Palais Royal through beautiful floor-to-ceiling French doors, which also fill the apartment with lovely natural light and breezes.

Furnishings are a tasteful mix of comfortable seating pieces (including a sofa bed which can accommodate up to two additional guests), traditional antique accents, and a dining table and chairs with seating for six. Modern amenities include a color cable TV (with CNN and BBC broadcasts), a radio/cassette/CD player and a telephone. Travelers with a local internet access number can also use the apartment's high-speed internet connection (which unfortunately is incompatible with mac computers). Air conditioning and central heating ensure guests' comfort year-round.

Down a few steps from the living and dining areas lies the fully-appointed and very modern (though very warm and charming) kitchen, with dishwasher, oven, range, refrigerator, washer, dryer, and microwave, as well as a full compliment of small appliances, dishes, glassware, pots, pans and utensils. A small "powder room," with toilet and washbasin, is also located on this level.

On the "garden" level a few steps up from the living and dining area are two cozy and bedrooms and one full bath. One bedroom is fitted with a queen bed, the other with a double; both have lovely antique furnishings, ample closet space and views.

The beautiful gardens provide a perfect spot for children to play or adults to take a relaxing stroll after a day of sightseeing. The location, in the heart of the 1st arrondissement, is one of the most prestigous addresses in Paris.


The apartment is an ideal spot for a family, two couples, or simply friends traveling together who want to experience living like a "real" Parisian. The beautiful gardens outside your doors are perfect for children to play in and adults to stroll in. Please note that there are stairways leading from the entryway to the bedrooms and from the living room to the kitchen. They are fairly narrow and could pose a problem for someone elderly or someone who has trouble walking.

This location is perfect for touring the sights of Paris, shopping and fine dining. The Louvre is around the corner and Place des Victoires, Place Vendome, the Seine, Place de la Concorde, Tuilerie Gardens and much more are all within easy walking distance of the apartment. There are wonderful restaurants and cafes in the surrounding neighborhood. You will also find a bakery, patisserie, cheese shop and a supermarket close by. The apartment is also within easy walking distance of the Louvre museum, the Left Bank, Place des Victoires, rue Montorgueil market, Place Vendome, the Seine, St. Germain des Pres, Place de la Concorde, and the Tuilerie Gardens.
