L'Amelie

Located in an early 1900's building in the neighborhood where the delightful film "Amelie" is set, this recently renovated and redecorated two bedroom apartment, with its floor-to-ceiling windows and French doors and approximately 650 square feet of living areas offers guests an inviting retreat overlooking the magnificent Sacré Coeur basilica.

Modern accents blend tastefully with traditional architectural elements throughout the living areas, while a large balcony (approximately 48 square feet!) with dining table and chairs provides breathtaking views and a peaceful spot for enjoying a glass of wine or a romantic meal al fresco.

The living and dining areas are furnished with quality antiques and a comfortable sofa bed which converts to a double bed, making the apartment suitable for up to six guests. All of the modern amenities and conveniences are provided, including air conditioning, cable television with English-language channels, DVD and CD player, music system and a personal computer with high-speed, wireless internet access (unfortunately, the internet system is incompatible with Mac laptops).

There are two full bathrooms, each furnished with a king-sized bed and tastefully decorated with a mix of antique and contemporary pieces. The bathroom features beautiful art deco-style fixtures and tiles, a bathtub with shower, washbasin and toilet, and is also equipped with a compact washer/dryer.

Guests will find the modern, well-designed kitchen to be fully equipped and outfitted, with a dishwasher, oven, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, and a full compliment of dishes and glassware, pots and pans and small appliances.

The neighborhood surrounding L'Amelie is classic Montmartre, with quiet winding streets shaded by leafy trees, eclectic shops and boutiques, charming cafés and lively nightclubs, as well as the ever-present Sacré Coeur. Wander through the busy fabric and notions district around the corner from the apartment, where you'll find colorful fabrics at bargain prices, or take the steps up to the Butte Montmartre, where you'll find the heart of the historic "village", where painters, mimes and street artists compete for tourists' attention, then stop for a croissant or glass of wine at one of the many cafés, bistros and restaurants overlooking the central square. Montmartre is uniquely Parisian...at the same time colorful, chaotic, funky and historic.

AS WITH MOST OF OUR PROPERTIES, NO SMOKING IS ALLOWED INSIDE THIS APARTMENT, AND PETS ARE NOT PERMITTED.
