La Belle Vie Parisienne

Set on the upper-most levels of an historic 17th century building, with elevator access, the apartment spreads approximately 1,500 square feet of living area over two floors, which are linked on the interior by a graceful spiral staircase. There are unobstructed views of the Palais Royal gardens from the apartment's balcony, as well as a lovely terrace with table and chairs overlooking the charming and quite quiet rue Montpensier.

The large living room, located on the fourth floor of the building and the main level of the duplex, is furnished with a blend of quality antiques and stylish comtemporary pieces, and is accented by ceilings bordered by crown mouldings, gleaming parquet hardwood floors, and floor-to-ceiling French windows that open onto the balcony and terrace.  The main salon is furnished with an entertainment center with satellite TV (with English language channels…there are three additional satellite TVs in the bedrooms), CD, DVD and cassette players, and a computer with high-speed internet (which unfortunately is incompatible with mac computers).  A spacious dining room, modern kitchen, master bedroom with ensuite bathroom and a small “powder room” with washbasin and toilet complete the first level of the duplex.  Air conditioning and central heating throughout the apartment ensures comfort no matter what the season.

The dining room provides ample seating for eight guests, and is perfect for more formal dining or entertaining.  A breakfast bar, with additional seating, separates the dining roomd from the modern and fully appointed kitchen, fitted with a dishwasher, oven, range, refrigerator/freezer, microwave and washer/dryer, as well as a full compliment of dishes, glassware, pots, pans and small appliances.

A well-sized master bedroom, furnished with a king bed and antique accents, and with its private ensuite bath/shower room, toilet and washbasin, is located adjacent to the main living areas on the first floor of the duplex.  Comfortable accommodations for up to two additional guests are provided by the convertible sofa in the living area and the adjacent powder room.

A graceful spiral staircase takes guests from the main level of the duplex to the two beautiful bedrooms, each with its own private bath/shower room, on the upper level.  Ceiling eaves, exposed beams and antique furnishings lend a classically French ambiance to each room, one of which features a king-sized bed (which can be separated into two twins), and the other a queen bed.   Guests will love the typical Parisian rooftop views from the bedroom windows.

Dating from the 17th century, the exquisite Palais Royal is located in Paris’ elegant first arrondissement, in the very heart of Paris, and is just steps from metro stops plus the Louvre, Place des Victoires, the Seine, Place de la Concorde, the Tuillerie Gardens (home to the magnificent l'Orangerie museum), Place Vendome, and some of the most incredible shopping districts in the world.  The Musee d'Orsay, the Champs Elysee, Notre Dame Cathredral, the Left Bank, Blvd. St Germain, the Marais, and Place de l'Opera are within a short walk or metro ride.

The apartment is also within easy reach of countless restaurants (including the Michelin three-star Grand Vefour which is located right at Palais Royal), cafes, wine bars, food shops, patisseries, shops and markets—all the joys of Parisian living.
